COSMIC OCCURANCE AND GALACTIC EXPLOSIONS
Media
Analog Collage, Paint
Date
2015
Created in response to an invitation to exhibit artwork in the offices of BMoCA (Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art), Cosmic Occurrence and Galactic Explosions is a series that explores the deep connection between the microcosm and the macrocosm. Through analog collage, this body of work transforms fragments of reality—sourced from books, magazines, and other printed materials—into cosmic imagery that reinterprets grand celestial phenomena.
By using microscopic elements such as bacteria and DNA to depict events like supernovae or the death of a star, these works challenge the perception of scale, emphasizing that the vast and the minute are not separate but reflections of the same fundamental forces. Cosmic Occurrence and Galactic Explosions invites viewers to contemplate the seamless connection between the inner and outer realms, dissolving the boundaries between the seen and unseen, the finite and the infinite.
