COCOONS

Cocoons is a collection of works exploring the cocoon as a vessel of transformation—both a sanctuary and a threshold between worlds. This imagery has been a constant presence in my art since childhood, an intuitive symbol that has deepened in meaning as I’ve grown. Over time, its esoteric and philosophical significance has unfolded, revealing layers of metamorphosis, dissolution, and rebirth.

Like the cocoon cradling the caterpillar as it surrenders to the unknown, or the cosmic egg containing the raw potential of existence, this form is a space where one reality dissolves to make way for another. In many ways, it parallels the portal—an entryway between dimensions, or even a black hole, where matter and time collapse, only to reemerge transformed.

Through this collection, I explore the cocoon as an archetype of creation and transition, a symbol of the unseen alchemy that takes place in the liminal spaces between what was and what will be. These works invite contemplation of the cycles of becoming, the mystery of gestation, and the infinite potential held within the void.
