The Full Moon of 8.8 is a convergence of potent celestial forces—

calling us to listen deeply, surrender illusions, and realign with truth.

It is a mile marker moon.

A turning point.

In the sidereal Vedic zodiac, this Full Moon takes place in the Nakshatra Shravana, who possesses

samhanana shakti, “the power to connect.”

Shravana means “to hear,” or “to flow.” This energy is encouraging us to listen more, and talk less.

Connection is amplified here.

Not just surface-level connection—authentic connection.

I often think of frequency when I meditate on Shravana.

I’m feeling the call to fine-tune our frequency signaled in this lunation.

Be clear of static and distraction.

Listen to Truth.

Shravana is sensitive to energy, and can often pick up on the frequencies and chatter around it.

Stay clear, and know that not every thought is your own.

We are part of a greater collective—an organism bigger than us.

Sometimes the voices we hear are not meant to be integrated, and certainly not attached to.

Clear the mind and tune into the frequency that is your truth.

In the tropical zodiac, this lunation lights up Aquarius—the sign of humanitarianism, higher vision, and community, seen through a future-forward lens.

Here, the Moon urges us to detach from ego and reactivity, and instead ask:

What is our higher purpose?

How does it serve the greater collective?

Is it true?

Is it ego?

This Full Moon is amplified by an opposition between Mars and both Saturn and Neptune—a challenging aspect that can bring fatigue, disillusionment, or fear of failure.

We may feel pulled between action and inaction, certainty and confusion.

But these very tensions are alchemical—pressing us to release egoic striving and find a path rooted in clarity and compassion.

Soon after this lunation, Mercury goes direct on August 11.

After weeks of mental fog and revision, Mercury stations direct in Pushya—the star of nourishment and sacred wisdom.

This offers a moment of clarity and recalibration—

a green light for decisive action and aligned communication.

The following day, Venus and Jupiter join in Cancer.

Two great benefics meet in the heart-centered waters of Cancer, offering emotional generosity, forgiveness, and, perhaps, a softer and more compassionate outlook regarding the relationships in our lives. 

This is a balm to the intensity of the Full Moon—a softening, a healing.

Additionally, the heavens will sparkle a little extra during this time, as the Perseids meteor shower lights up the night sky, peaking around the 12th.

Sirius will also be rising in the predawn sky, shining its light on all that has been manifested during the Sirius Gateway, which began with its conjunction to the Sun in July.
